Melee combat now runs on a stamina meter instead of infinite punches — throw enough hits and Jason or Lucia starts to tire.
The meter depletes as punches land or a melee weapon swings, and the screen edges vignette once it bottoms out, signaling a real penalty to movement and combat effectiveness rather than a cosmetic gauge. Drain rate reportedly scales with the weapon in hand — bare fists burn stamina slower than something heavier like a wrench — pushing players to manage a fight instead of button-mashing through it.
