With less than a month until launch, Rockstar still hasn't named who's playing Jason and Lucia -- but the rumor mill has a lot of theories, and one veteran actor just broke the silence himself.

GameSpot has put together a rundown of every confirmed and rumored GTA 6 voice actor, and the headline takeaway is how little Rockstar has actually said. Stephen Root -- known for Office Space, King of the Hill, and Barry -- is the one major name to publicly confirm his involvement, telling the Associated Press at a BAFTA event in September 2026 that "you're gonna see me in there." Fans have pegged him as Brian Heder, the veteran drug smuggler who serves as Jason's landlord and boatyard boss in the Keys.

Beyond Root, confirmation gets thin. Jim Santangeli, who voiced Simon Pearson in Red Dead Redemption 2, said during a June 2026 TikTok livestream that he contributed a "little small bit" to GTA 6, though he wouldn't say which character or what the scene involved. According to GameSpot, Rockstar has a history of bringing back performers from its other projects, which makes Santangeli's involvement notable even without specifics.

The protagonists themselves remain unconfirmed. Manni L. Perez and Dylan Rourke are the names most frequently floated for Lucia and Jason respectively, based on fans comparing their voices and likenesses to trailer footage rather than any official word. Bobby Moynihan has similarly been linked to supporting character Cal Hampton. None of these three have been credited by Rockstar, and the report is careful to frame them as speculation rather than fact. Meanwhile, two earlier theories have been put to rest entirely -- Troy Baker and Roger Craig Smith both publicly denied playing Jason after trailer dialogue got compared to their voices.

This fits a pattern GTA 6 watchers have seen throughout the marketing cycle: Rockstar releases plenty of footage and character profiles but withholds production specifics, a strategy that's held even as leaks and extortion attempts have pressured the studio in other areas. It's a sharp contrast to GTA 5, where voice actors were revealed roughly ten months ahead of release -- a timeline GTA 6 blew past long ago.

Practically, this means fans hoping for an official cast list before November 19 shouldn't hold their breath. If Rockstar follows its usual playbook, credits may not surface until the game is actually in players' hands, leaving the identities of Jason and Lucia's performers as one of the last genuine mysteries before launch.
