GTA 6 Buyers Can Upgrade From the $80 to $100 Edition for $20

Rockstar will let players who buy the $80 standard edition of GTA 6 pay $20 later to unlock the $100 Ultimate Edition's extras, according to GameSpot.
Players who aren't sure whether to spring for GTA 6's priciest edition now have a middle path. According to GameSpot, Rockstar is offering an "Ultimate Edition Upgrade" priced at $20, which lets anyone who buys the $80 version switch up to the $100 Ultimate Edition after the fact.
The upgrade path applies broadly. GameSpot reports it works for the digital version sold through the Xbox and PlayStation stores, as well as the code-in-a-box physical release. In other words, buyers aren't locked into their initial purchase price if they decide later that the extra content is worth it.
The $100 Ultimate Edition isn't available in stores on its own, per the report. It bundles in extra vehicles, weapons, and clothing for protagonists Jason and Lucia. Rockstar has said these items are "threaded across all aspects of Jason and Lucia's story," with new pieces unlocking "behind each chapter" as players progress.
The Ultimate Edition also grants access to a handful of in-game businesses that standard-edition players won't have, including a hair salon, a tattoo parlor, and a mod shop, according to the report. GameSpot specifically points to Sara's Unisex Hair Salon as one of these exclusive locations.
Separately, GameSpot notes that all GTA 6 preorders, regardless of edition, include the Vintage Vice City Pack and one month of GTA+. Preloading is set to begin November 10 ahead of the game's November 19 launch, which is a relevant detail given the game's reported 212GB install size. The game unlocks at midnight local time, meaning players in regions like New Zealand will be among the first able to boot it up.
