Rockstar's Extended Look Footage Finds a Home in Short Form on YouTube

Fans who missed the Netflix broadcast now have a quick, vertical alternative straight from Rockstar's own YouTube channel.
Rockstar Games has posted its "Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look — Now Playing" footage to YouTube in a Shorts-formatted upload, according to a listing on the studio's official channel published August 28, 2026.
The clip carries the hashtags #GrandTheftAutoVI and #GTAVI, tying it directly to the broader Extended Look material that has circulated since the footage first debuted. Beyond the title and tags, Rockstar's posting offers no additional written context in the excerpt available to us.
This marks yet another format in which the Extended Look content has appeared, following earlier full-length and short-form cuts shared across Rockstar's platforms. The vertical, mobile-friendly presentation suggests Rockstar is prioritizing easy access for viewers scrolling on phones rather than watching on desktop or TV.
As with other short-form uploads of this footage, fans should note that a Shorts format is unlikely to contain new gameplay details beyond what's already been shown elsewhere. We'll continue to watch for any official Rockstar commentary that might accompany future uploads.
