Weight Gain and Fatigue Set to Alter How Jason and Lucia Move Through Leonida

Skip meals, skip sleep, skip the gym -- and Leonida's two leads will apparently show it, echoing a beloved mechanic Rockstar hasn't touched since San Andreas.
A new deep dive from Dazed magazine's Autumn 2026 Issue, reported on by GameSpot, suggests GTA 6 is reviving one of San Andreas' most memorable systems: physical transformation based on player habits. According to Rockstar figures who spoke to the magazine, both Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos will visibly change depending on how players treat them.
Per the excerpt, overeating will cause both characters to put on weight, regular exercise will build muscle, and skimping on sleep will leave visible signs of fatigue that go well beyond needing an under-eye mask. The developers reportedly framed this as part of a broader push toward believability, tying player behavior directly into how the world of Leonida reflects back on its protagonists.
The comparison to San Andreas is hard to miss. In that game, letting CJ overeat at Cluckin' Bell made him gain weight, lose stamina, hold weapons awkwardly, and in some cases become locked out of missions until he slimmed back down. GameSpot notes it's not yet confirmed whether GTA 6 will go as far as gating missions behind a character's physical state, but the framing suggests health and appearance will meaningfully affect how Jason and Lucia carry themselves.
With GTA 6 landing November 19 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, this kind of official, magazine-sourced detail is a rare bit of confirmed information amid the ongoing wave of unofficial leaks. As always, anyone hoping to avoid spoilers should be cautious about what else they scroll past online in the meantime.
