Split Reactions Emerge Over Graphics Quality in Newest Alleged Footage, With Claims It Predates Recent Trailers

A fresh batch of alleged gameplay footage has split fan opinion online, with some calling the visuals underwhelming while an insider claims the clips are over a year old.
According to Kotaku, a new round of alleged GTA 6 gameplay footage is making the rounds online, and it has sparked a heated debate among fans about how the game actually looks. Some viewers reportedly praised the clips, while others were far less impressed, with critics describing the visuals as underwhelming or "mid" compared to expectations set by Rockstar's official trailers.
Kotaku's report notes that at least one insider has weighed in, claiming the footage in question is actually more than a year old. If accurate, that would mean the clips reflect an earlier build of the game rather than its current state, which could help explain any perceived gap in visual quality compared to more recent official materials.
As with prior leaks, the footage's authenticity has not been independently confirmed, and Rockstar has not commented on the material. Fans should treat the clips, and any claims about their age or origin, as unverified for now.
The debate is the latest in a string of alleged leaks that have circulated in the lead-up to the game's release, each fueling fresh speculation about what the final product will look like. Until Rockstar addresses the footage directly, its accuracy and timeline remain unclear.
