Purported Leak Group Ties GTA 6 Footage Release to Anti-Preorder Demand

A group claiming credit for a supposed GTA 6 gameplay leak says it wants digital pre-orders scrapped entirely, arguing publishers should rely on physical discs if they want revenue before launch.
According to Kotaku, a group taking responsibility for a supposed GTA 6 gameplay leak has issued a demand aimed squarely at the pre-order system rather than the game itself. The group reportedly argues that digital pre-orders should be abolished, with one line quoted as "if publishers want revenue before launch, they can press discs."
The report notes the group's broader stance boils down to the phrase "preorders were not created for gamers," framing digital pre-purchases as a mechanism that benefits publishers' bottom lines far more than it benefits players.
Kotaku's piece does not confirm the authenticity of the alleged leak itself, and details on how this group is connected to any actual leaked material remain thin. As with past leak-related claims surrounding GTA 6, fans should treat the underlying footage claims with caution until more verified information emerges.
Whatever the truth behind the leak claim, the demand adds another voice to the ongoing debate over digital pre-order practices in the industry, arriving just months ahead of GTA 6's anticipated launch window.
