A newly surfaced clip shows Jason browsing a fictional game store stacked with physical discs and consoles -- a scene the leaker frames as a pointed critique of GTA 6's digital-only physical edition.
A fresh alleged GTA 6 leak circulating online shows protagonist Jason wandering into a store called Game Horde, using binoculars to zoom in on shelves lined with games and consoles, according to GameSpot. The clip carries a watermarked message reading, "This is not about actual discs. It's about ownership. Resale rights still matter, even in a digital-only era."
The scene has drawn attention for its apparent irony: Rockstar has confirmed GTA 6 will be available at physical retailers, but the boxed version reportedly contains nothing more than a redemption code rather than an actual disc. That detail has resurfaced longstanding fan frustrations over ownership and game preservation as digital purchases continue to grow as a share of the market, GameSpot notes.
The person or people behind the ongoing leak campaign have previously framed their releases around a set of self-styled "commandments," among them pledges against selling digital preorders or fake single-player DLC, and a vow to preserve single-player content. This latest clip appears to tie into that same messaging about consumer rights, though its authenticity, like other leaked material, remains unverified by Rockstar or Take-Two.
Neither company has identified who is responsible for the leaks so far. GameSpot points out that whoever is behind them clearly still has access to the game's files. The situation echoes GTA 6's first major leak back in 2022, whose suspect, Arion Kurtaj, was reportedly ordered into a secure hospital before later being moved to a standard prison ahead of a new trial.
Despite the steady drip of leaked footage, GameSpot reports that Rockstar's own official gameplay reveal is still on track to air via Netflix on August 27, just ahead of GTA 6's November 19 launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
