The surprise WWE 2K26 roster addition of a real-life gaming executive gets an explanation straight from the source — and a clear "don't expect it" for GTA 6.
According to IGN, Strauss Zelnick has finally addressed why he showed up as a playable character in WWE 2K26's June DLC drop. The Take-Two CEO said the idea was his own, admitting he pitched it because "I thought it would be funny for insiders" — a nod to the industry crowd who'd recognize the joke.
Zelnick also noted, per the outlet, that the DLC featuring his likeness performed well commercially, suggesting the stunt wasn't just an inside joke but a modest sales success too.
However, fans hoping for a similar easter egg in GTA 6 shouldn't hold their breath. IGN reports that Zelnick was clear the WWE 2K26 cameo was a one-off, and he does not expect to make a similar appearance in Rockstar's upcoming open-world title.
The comments offer a rare bit of levity from Take-Two's usually business-focused leader, even as anticipation continues to build around GTA 6's November 19 launch.
